BASIC COVER

Contractor All Risk insurance has been designed to protect the owners or contractors of a project during the construction period against:-

any unforeseen and sudden physical loss of or damage to the construction or any part thereof other than those specifically excluded in the Policy by payment in cash, replacement or repair.

The owners or contractors of the project will also be reimbursed for the cost of clearance of debris following upon any event giving rise to a claim under the Policy provided a separate sum thereof has been entered in the Policy Schedule.

the sums which the Insured shall become legally liable to pay as damages consequent upon

	accidental bodily injury to or illness of third parties (whether fatal or not),
	accidental loss of or damage to property belonging to third parties

occurring in direct connection with the construction or erection of the items insured under the Policy and happening on or in the immediate vicinity of the site during the Period of Cover.

In respect of a claim for compensation to which the indemnity provided herein applies, the Insurers will in addition indemnify the Insured against

	all costs and expenses of litigation recovered by any claimant from the Insured, and
	all costs and expenses incurred with the written consent of the Insurers.
