Standard motor vehicle insurance is written under the Indonesian Standard Motor Vehicle Policy that provides cover for:
Loss of or damage to the vehicles due to road accidents
Third Party Liability arising from the use of the motor vehicle
 
Such insurance applies for all vehicles licensed for public road use only.
 
The Policy can be extended to cover the following:
Legal liability to the passengers of the vehicle
Personal Accident to the passengers of the vehicle
Personal Accident to the driver of the vehicle
Riot Strike Malicious Damage and Civil Commotion
Acts of Terrorism
Acts of God such as earthquake and flood
