The basic cover of Personal Accident insurance is to pay benefit to the insured person’s legal personal representative the sums insured in case of loss of life of the insured person due to an accident.

Other optional benefits payable under Personal Accident insurance are:
Permanent Disablement i.e. permanent loss of use of parts of the body.
Temporary Total Disablement i.e. disablement which entirely prevents the Insured Person from attending to all duties pertaining to his usual occupation, profession or business temporarily.
Temporary Partial Disablement i.e. disablement which prevents the Insured Person from attending to a substantial part of his usual occupation, profession or business temporarily.
Accident Medical Expenses i.e. expenses (after deduction of any sums recovered or recoverable from all other sources) reasonably and necessarily incurred within 365 days of sustaining Injury and paid by the Insured or Insured Person to a legally qualified medical practitioner, dentist, registered nurse, hospital or nursing treatment, including the costs of prescribed medical supplies and ambulance hire, but excluding the cost of dental treatment unless such treatment is for injury to sound and natural teeth.
